Maybe you should try some of the replies that were given. One system it did this for 2-3 days because every time the user saw the CPU meter pegged, he thought something was wrong and rebooted. It is general though svchost that is using it all and I have to choose "check processes from all users"...there is only one profile this far on this PC. One laptop that had the issue has 4GB of RAM. Even after a complete format of the pc cpu usage at 100% after clean install of win 7 High CPU temps after Win 10 clean install. Also could you actually list your mobo please..
I notice the CPU usage is pegged at 100%. I did a search for parport.sys and found it was something to do with the Parallel Port on my mobo. System idle process tells the computers to slow down when there is no work load.I gather you have downloaded all of your xp disk, see if you can find one an Check out task manager and install your hardware drivers- I once had a hp printer mess me up too.
Nothing I do changes it. I reloaded Windows XP only to find it is still so slow it is unusable. The pc hasn't been connected to the internet since the new install.
