Download and install the appropriate version of KB3145739 known as “Microsoft Security Bulletin MS16-039 — Security Update for Microsoft Graphics component (3148522).” (alternate link to KB3145739 files) Restart the PC, even Right after I got the computer I installed office 2007 on it, so I knew there were more updates just for that. If for some reason you need to recover the current install of Windows, I would recommend contacting Microsoft or to restore from a backup. Time consuming but superb . I found another post here that suggested updating the Win32k.sys Kernel-Mode Drivers via KB3153199 as a "temporary" workaround, but of course (catch-22!) the standalone installer was taking forever, so I used
